Terms of Service

The agreement for using Backbook.

Template — last updated 2026. Placeholder terms pending review by counsel and finalization in the Master Services Agreement before onboarding paying customers.

The service

Backbook is software that reconciles carrier commission statements against an agency's contracted rates and drafts dispute correspondence. Findings are decision support; the agency reviews and approves all outputs.

Agency as disputant of record

The agency remains the disputant of record with its carriers. Backbook does not contact carriers on your behalf or submit disputes without your approval.

Fees

Subscription fees are billed per the plan selected. A contingency fee (a capped share of amounts actually recovered) may apply and, where required by state law, is subject to a fee-legality review; a flat per-statement option is available as an alternative.

Acceptable use & data

You represent you have the right to upload the statements and book data you provide. You will not upload data you are not authorized to process. Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.

No warranty on recoveries

Backbook surfaces likely discrepancies with supporting detail; it does not guarantee any carrier will pay a disputed amount. Outcomes depend on your contracts and the carrier's response.
